Guest registration stops being paper in a drawer.
Every lodging business in Brazil must register its guests and send that data to the national system. Done by hand it costs half an hour per check-in — and nobody tracks what slipped through.

You will recognise at least one of these
The form is filled in by hand at the desk, with a tired guest standing there after hours on the road.
Nobody can say, without digging, which of last month's forms were submitted and which were not.
Copies of ID sit in folders, in email or in somebody’s WhatsApp — and nobody set a retention period.

Six questions about how you register guests today. At the end, what holds up and what is missing.
Nothing is sent anywhere. Your answers stay in this browser tab.
Do you fill in a registration form for every guest — including those arriving through an OTA?
Does that data reach the national registration system, not just a folder of your own?
Can the guest fill it in before arriving, with no paper at the desk?
Is the guest's ID document protected, and can you say how long you keep it?
If someone asked today for a period's forms, would you produce them in minutes?
Does anyone check whether a form was left unsent?

Informational self-assessment, not legal advice. Rules vary by city and state, and they change. When in doubt, check with your local tourism authority.
What it looks like on Pousari
- 1
On booking confirmation the guest gets a link and fills in their own form from their phone, before leaving home.
- 2
The data lands structured — no retyping, no unreadable handwriting — and the ID document is stored encrypted.
- 3
Pending items show on screen: who still has to fill it in, what still has to be sent. What nobody sees is what becomes a problem.
We run our own inn on this. Paradise Ranch operates on Pousari every day — bookings, rates, guest registration and the books.
The questions that always come up
- Does this really apply to a small inn?
- Law 11.771/2008 covers lodging businesses with no size threshold. A five-chalet inn falls under the same rule as a 200-room hotel.
- What about guests arriving via Booking or Airbnb?
- The sales channel does not change the registration duty. That is where forms slip most, because the OTA flow never passes the front desk.
- Do I have to switch systems for this?
- Registration is part of Pousari, not a separate module. If you already use Cloudbeds, the sync brings the reservations and registration rides on top of them.
Start with registration. The rest of the operation comes with it.
